Discover Ron Simmons, a legendary figure in American professional wrestling and a member of the WWE Hall of Fame, with this Funko POP! WWE No. 218 figurine. This figurine showcases one of the most recognisable aspects of the later stages of his career, featuring his famous black T-shirt bearing the word ‘DAMN’. The vinyl figurine stands approximately 10.2 cm tall.
The design depicts Simmons in a confident pose, with his hands on his hips. He is wearing light blue trousers, black shoes and several gold accessories on his wrists. His sleeveless T-shirt displays his iconic ‘DAMN’ in large white letters, an expression that became synonymous with the wrestler during his appearances in the WWE.
Made from PVC/vinyl, this figurine joins the Funko collection dedicated to WWE Superstars and legends. It comes in the traditional POP! No. 218 display box, allowing it to be displayed with or without its packaging.
Ron Simmons is a former American football player who became a professional wrestler. After a distinguished university career at Florida State University, he turned to wrestling and made a name for himself, notably in the WCW. On 2 August 1992, he defeated Big Van Vader to win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship and became, according to the WWE, the first African-American to be officially recognised as a singles world champion in sports entertainment.
In the WWF/WWE, Simmons is also known as Faarooq. He became the leader of the Nation of Domination before teaming up with Bradshaw – later known as JBL – to form the Acolytes, and subsequently the Acolytes Protection Agency (APA). The duo, renowned for their particularly physical style, won the World Tag Team Championship three times and became one of the defining teams of the Attitude Era.
Towards the end of his career, Ron Simmons also became famous for a recurring catchphrase consisting of a single word: ‘Damn!’. He would appear following particularly absurd or embarrassing situations before uttering this catchphrase, which became a true trademark amongst the WWE audience. His career was officially recognised with his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2012.
This POP! No. 218 directly references this final phase of his career by depicting Simmons wearing his ‘DAMN’ T-shirt, making one of his most famous catchphrases the central feature of the figurine’s design.
