Origin and character background (Lore)
Originally conceived by the writer A.A. Milne in 1926 before joining the magical world of Disney, Eeyore is the old grey stuffed donkey who lives in one of the quietest corners of the Hundred Acre Wood. Surrounded by his loyal friends Winnie-the-Pooh, Piglet, Tigger and Christopher Robin, he goes through life with a melancholy that has become legendary.
Despite his constant pessimism and his unfortunate tendency to lose his tail — which is attached by a single pin — Eeyore has a heart of gold and shows unwavering loyalty to his group of friends. His companions accept his gloomy nature with unconditional kindness and always go out of their way to build him little huts out of twigs to put a smile back on his face. This weighted soft toy beautifully honours this iconic and deeply touching character, a universal symbol of resilience, self-acceptance and emotional comfort.
