Origin and character background
Umemiya Hajime is the undisputed leader of the Fireballs (Bofurin) and the representative of the students at Furin High School at the heart of the hit action manga Wind Breaker, written and illustrated by Satoru Nii. Although the school is home to the region’s most notorious delinquents and repeat offenders, Umemiya has managed to channel this violence to transform the school into an impenetrable shield protecting the town’s inhabitants from external threats. Usually cheerful, friendly and passionate about gardening — he spends much of his time growing vegetables on the school roof — he transforms into a formidable and ruthless warrior the moment the peace of his neighbourhood or the safety of his ‘children’ is threatened.
This 17 cm figurine perfectly captures this striking contrast that makes the hero so charming. It meticulously highlights his athletic build, his spiky fair hair and his iconic outfit with its flowing lines. The finely crafted expression on his face conveys both his quiet strength and his unshakeable determination. It is an absolute must-have for all fans wishing to display the top of the Furin hierarchy alongside Suo Hayato and Sakura Haruka.
