Origin and background of the character
In the dark and ruthless universe of Warhammer 40,000,the Astra Militarum (commonly known as the Imperial Guard) is the main military force of the Imperium of Mankind. Faced with the horrors of the alien Xenos factions and the demons of Chaos, the survival of the regiments depends on blind obedience. This is where the Commissars come in. Reporting directly to the Officio Prefectus, these elite officers are not tasked with directing combat tactics, but with monitoring the morale, devotion and discipline of the troops. Instantly recognisable, they are feared as much by their own soldiers as by their enemies, for they possess the right to carry out immediate summary execution on anyone who shows the slightest sign of cowardice or heresy.
This Funko vinyl figurine meticulously recreates the official and terrifying uniform of these figures of the Imperium. The Commissar is depicted wearing his long black officer’s jacket, lined in red and featuring sculpted gold buttons, as well as his famous high-peaked cap bearing the Imperial Aquila. True to his standard combat arsenal, he brandishes his laser pistol in one hand to punish traitors, and in the other a fearsome chainsword, ready to slice his opponents to pieces in close combat. An essential centrepiece for any player, collector or loyal servant of the Emperor wishing to impose order upon their display cabinet.
