Created by Mary Shelley in her novel published in 1818, Frankenstein tells the story of the scientist Victor Frankenstein and the creature he brings to life. Over the decades, this story has become one of the great classics of fantasy literature and horror cinema.
The 1931 adaptation produced by Universal Pictures played a pivotal role in popularising the monster’s now-iconic appearance. With its massive build and instantly recognisable face, this incarnation has become one of the major symbols of the golden age of the Universal Monsters.
This POP! VHS Cover No. 26 commemorates the 95th anniversary of the 1931 film, which will mark this milestone in 2026. By pairing the monster with a design reminiscent of vintage video releases, Funko celebrates both Frankenstein’s cinematic legacy and the nostalgia associated with VHS collections.
