Origin and background of the character
Released in 1982 by Disney Studios, TRON is a revolutionary and avant-garde film that left an indelible mark on cinema history as one of the very first to make extensive use of computer-generated special effects. The plot follows video game designer Kevin Flynn, who is digitised and forcibly projected into the heart of a dictatorial virtual universe ruled by the tyrannical Master Control Programme (MCP). In this digital world, software takes on human form. Yori is an exceptionally elegant graphical simulation programme, created by input/output researcher Dr Lora Baines. Courageous and determined to overthrow the MCP’s dictatorship, she joins forces with the warrior Tron and Flynn to help them reach the central I/O beam. This Funko Pop! figurine faithfully captures the retro, geometric cyberpunk aesthetic of the character’s luminous outfit, offering a must-have nostalgic piece for all film fans.
