TRANSFORMERS THE MOVIE - Allicon - Figure Deluxe Class 13.9cm

This Hasbro Transformers Studio Series Deluxe Class figure depicts an Allicon, one of the cybernetic creatures serving as guards and enforcers for the Quintessons in the 1986 animated film *The Transformers: The Movie*. Standing approximately 13.9 cm tall in robot mode, it combines an articulated design with a transformation mechanism that allows it to change from a robot into an alligator-like mechanical creature in 14 steps.

The robot mode captures the Allicons’ distinctive aesthetic, with a stocky build, an imposing head and angular armour directly inspired by the Generation 1 animation. The colour scheme primarily combines grey, green, purple and various metallic accents, replicating the appearance of the guards encountered by Hot Rod and Kup on Quintessa. Several points of articulation allow the position of the arms and legs to be adjusted to create different poses.

The 14-step transformation results in an alternate mode resembling a bipedal Cybertronian alligator. This animal form directly mirrors the appearance adopted by the Allicons in the film and subsequent episodes of the animated series. The transformation utilises various parts of the robot’s body to form the creature’s head, limbs and back.

Two accessories are included with the figure: a spear and a dorsal fin. Hasbro points out that these elements can be attached in both robot mode and alligator mode. This versatility allows for a variety of display configurations whilst remaining true to the guard and soldier roles assigned to the Allicons within the Quintessons’ universe.

Character background and universe (Lore)

The Allicons appear in *The Transformers: The Movie* as guards and enforcers in the service of the Quintessons on the planet Quintessa. Hasbro describes them as creatures that hunt in packs and are tasked with capturing any intruders to bring them before the Quintessons’ court.

When Hot Rod and Kup crash-land on Quintessa, they encounter a squad of Allicons. Kup attempts to use the ‘universal greeting’ and offers them Energon in an attempt to avoid a fight. The strategy works for a while, but when their Energon supplies run out, the Allicons capture the two Autobots and bring them before the Quintessons’ court.

The Allicons constitute a different category of minions from the Sharkticons. Whilst the Sharkticons act primarily as executioners when the Quintessons hand down sentences, the Allicons fulfil more of a role as guards and security forces. They are capable of communication and possess greater autonomy than the Sharkticons, although their programming keeps them entirely subservient to the Quintessons’ orders.

Their ability to shift from a humanoid form to a mechanical crocodile or alligator form is one of their most distinctive visual features. This Studio Series figure accurately recreates this transformation on a Deluxe Class scale, allowing you to enjoy both the robotic guard seen on Quintessa and its Cybertronian animal form.
