Discover a dark version of Bumblebee with this articulated Transformers Studio Series – Optimus Prime: Awakening action figure, manufactured by Hasbro. Inspired by the animated short film *Optimus Prime: Awakening*, this edition depicts the famous Autobot in an altered form, characterised in particular by his red eyes, menacing expression and a darker colour scheme than his usual design.

Part of the Deluxe Class range, the figure measures approximately 11.4 cm in robot mode and features multiple points of articulation, allowing for a variety of poses. It retains Bumblebee’s iconic yellow and black colours, but incorporates specific details from his appearance in *Optimus Prime: Awakening*, notably a badly damaged Autobot symbol on his chest.

Character background and universe (Lore)

Bumblebee is one of the most iconic Autobots in the Transformers universe. A loyal ally of Optimus Prime, he is traditionally distinguished by his small size compared to other Transformers, his yellow colour and his bravery. Depending on the various continuities within the franchise, he regularly acts as a scout and maintains a particularly close relationship with humans.

The version depicted by this figure comes from the animated short film *Optimus Prime: Awakening*, produced as a companion piece to *The Transformers: The Movie*. In this story, Optimus is confronted by visions linked to the endless conflict between the Autobots and the Decepticons. One of these visions shows him a Bumblebee who has turned hostile, with red eyes and wielding, amongst other things, Megatron’s fusion cannon. This particularly dark incarnation of the character thus serves as a contrast to the loyal Autobot usually associated with Optimus Prime.
