Origin and character lore
Released in 1995 by Pixar Studios, Toy Story was historically the very first feature-length animated film created entirely using computer-generated imagery, revolutionising the film industry forever. The plot is based on a secret and magical concept: when humans leave a room, the toys come to life and lead their own lives. The story follows the adventures of Woody the cowboy, young Andy’s favourite toy, whose position as leader is suddenly challenged by the arrival of Buzz Lightyear, a state-of-the-art space ranger who is unaware that he is a toy. From rivals to inseparable friends, they’ll have to help each other overcome the dangers of the outside world. This set of notebooks celebrates the spirit of childhood, nostalgia and the boundless imagination of this timeless franchise, inviting you to jot down your own ideas ‘to infinity and beyond!’
