Entrust your savings to Lotso, the imposing pink bear from *Toy Story 3*, with this decorative money box made by Monogram. Depicting the character as a three-dimensional figurine, it combines practicality with a design that is particularly well-suited to Disney and Pixar collections.
Lotso is depicted standing with his cane in his right hand. The sculpture captures his round silhouette, his raspberry-pink fur, his beige belly and his broad muzzle, dominated by a purple nose. His deceptively gentle expression, with his thick eyebrows and subtle little smile, immediately brings to mind the character’s ambiguous personality in the film.
The surface features a flocked finish, made up of fine fibres that give the character a velvety appearance similar to that of a soft toy. This coating accentuates the differences in texture between the fur, the muzzle, the eyes and the cane, whilst transforming the piggy bank into a genuine decorative item. The model is approximately 20 cm tall and is made of PVC.
Coins and notes can be inserted through the slot at the back. A removable plug located under the base then allows you to easily retrieve the contents without damaging the piggy bank. Its compact size means it can be placed on a shelf, a desk or in a display cabinet dedicated to the Toy Story universe.
Lotso appears in Toy Story 3 as a large pink teddy bear with a purple nose, originally designed to smell of strawberries. When Woody, Buzz and their friends arrive at Sunnyside Nursery, he initially presents himself as a caring manager who warmly welcomes the new toys.
However, this façade conceals an authoritarian leader who controls the nursery with the help of his henchmen. Lotso was deeply scarred by his accidental abandonment and then by the discovery that another version of the same soft toy had replaced him with his owner, Daisy. Convinced that toys are always eventually cast aside, he has since imposed a cynical and brutal outlook on the residents of Sunnyside.
His gentle appearance, his strawberry scent and his menacing behaviour thus create a central contrast within the character. This piggy bank captures this duality precisely, retaining the bear’s soft, velvety appearance whilst reproducing his stern expression and his iconic cane.
