Character background and lore
Inspired by the rich history of rock and the artistic world of his music videos, Tom Petty is an exceptional musician who spent much of his creative life pursuing a single goal: to shake up musical conventions and secure his place amongst the greatest songwriters of his generation. As the charismatic frontman of the Heartbreakers, he made his mark on the international stage and came of age amidst the visual revolutions of the MTV era, learning to mask his doubts and his absolute mastery of melody behind striking psychedelic imagery to capture his audience’s imagination. It is through the dreamlike and absurd world of his signature song that he leaves a lasting impression, not hesitating to embody a memorable Mad Hatter to assert his visual identity. This marked the starting point of a demanding musical journey, in which this genius composer used his determination to guide his work through the ages, establishing himself as the indispensable leading figure who could make stadiums sing and leave his mark on the history of pop culture.
