Character origin and background (Lore)
Inspired by the SpongeBob SquarePants universe, Gary (or Gary the Snail) is a marine-born pet who has spent much of his life in Bikini Bottom pursuing a simple goal: to savour his sea kibble and provide a soothing presence within his home on Conques Lane. Living under the pineapple-shaped roof of his owner, SpongeBob, he conceals exceptional intelligence, remarkable wisdom and an absolute mastery of poetry behind his characteristic meows, which he uses to guide his scatterbrained friends. It is during grand escapades and epic quests across the oceans that he relives extravagant adventures, such as the one that propels him out to sea in the guise of an intrepid pirate. This marks the start of a gruelling aquatic journey, where this small, big-hearted companion uses his quiet determination to navigate the currents, establishing himself as the indispensable ally needed to thwart Plankton’s Machiavellian schemes and preserve peace in his underwater worldthe sea.
