Origin and world of the character (Lore)
Created by Rebecca Sugar for Cartoon Network, the Steven Universe series features the Crystal Gems, magical extraterrestrial beings. Rainbow Quartz 2.0 is an entity born from the physical and mental fusion between the protagonist Steven Universe and the Pearl Gem. It is an evolution of the original "Rainbow Quartz" fusion (formerly formed by Rose Quartz and Pearl). An androgynous, extravagant and agile character, he uses a magic umbrella as a combat weapon, combining Steven's shield and Pearl's spear. His personality blends Steven's playful humour with Pearl's meticulous grace.
