Character origin and universe
Based on the Spider-Gwen: Gwenverse comic book miniseries published in 2022 by Marvel Comics, this iteration explores a major temporal anomaly in which Ghost-Spider (Gwen Stacy of Earth-65) is erased from her own timeline. To repair the fabric of reality, she must travel across dimensions and ally herself with variants of herself who have taken on the destinies of Earth’s greatest superheroes. Among these alternate versions is Cap-Gwen, a version of Gwen Stacy who has received the Super-Soldier Serum and wields the famous vibranium shield to become the Sentinel of Liberty in her reality. Combining the agility and style of a web-slinger with the tactical acumen and unwavering determination of Captain America, she emerges as the natural leader of this multiverse saga.
