History and background of the model
The character of the puppet Billy was created by James Wan and Leigh Whannell for the first film in the Saw franchise, released in 2004. Used by the Jigsaw Killer (Jigsaw / John Kramer), this terrifying ventriloquist with a white face, red spirals on his cheeks and dark eyes acts as an intermediary to deliver the sadistic rules of his ‘games’ to the victims. His appearances on his little red tricycle, accompanied by a creaking, mechanical laugh, have made him one of the most memorable figures in the modern history of horror cinema.
Produced by Funko, the ‘Doodles’ art variant reimagines the puppet’s terrifying aesthetic by adorning its silhouette with printed graphic patterns, paying homage to the illustrations and preparatory sketches.
