Character origin and background (Lore)
Inspired by Sanrio’s work and expanded universe, Kuromi is a fantastical creature who has spent much of her city life pursuing a single goal: to express her punk-lolita style and find her place amongst the most memorable figures in the Kawaii world. A friendly rival to My Melody, she embarks on her own adventures and comes of age amidst the biggest celebrations in her world, learning to hide her great sensitivity and tender heart behind a mischievous, rebellious attitude and a strong sense of friendship to protect her friends. She’s the one who brings a touch of daring to her group, never hesitating to throw herself wholeheartedly into livening up those around her. This is the starting point for a dynamic daily journey, where this little creature with a big heart uses her determination to navigate through fashions and trends, becoming the indispensable character who shakes up the status quo and brings joy to those around her.
