Origin and world of the character (Lore)
Introduced in 1996 as the fourth season of the overall franchise, Power Rangers Zeo follows directly on from the events of Mighty Morphin. After Master Vile destroys their original power pieces, the heroes must harness the legendary Zeo crystals to acquire new abilities in order to counter the invasion of the Machine Empire led by King Mondo. The role of the Blue Zeo Ranger is played by Rocky DeSantos (formerly the Red Ranger of the second Mighty Morphin team), who uses the power of the Zeo III crystal (represented by the triangular shape with three peaks on his visor). As part of the collective, he pilots the Zeo Zord III and uses his weapon of choice, the Zeo Power Axes, to repel enemy robotic forces.
