Origin and background of the character
Created by Satoshi Tajiri in 1996 for Nintendo, the Pokémon franchise is a global pop culture phenomenon. Absol is a Dark-type Pokémon introduced in the third generation in the Ruby and Sapphire versions, set in the Hoenn region. Recognisable by its white fur, which contrasts with its blue-black skin, and its distinctive scythe-shaped horn on the side of its head, it is nicknamed the ‘Disaster Pokémon’. Thanks to its heightened sensitivity to environmental changes, it possesses the unique ability to predict impending natural disasters and appears to humans to warn them, which has wrongly earned it a reputation as a harbinger of doom. This Funko Pop! figurine accurately captures its solemn posture and charismatic appearance, making it an essential addition to any Trainer’s collection.
