POKEMON - Pikachu #0025 - Cap

This officially licensed Pokémon Difuzed cap celebrates Pikachu with a design directly inspired by its number in the National Pokédex. Listed under number 0025, the famous Electric-type Pokémon appears on several parts of the cap, which combines prints, embroidery and embossed details on a very dark navy blue background. 

The front features a yellow illustration of Pikachu accompanied by the inscription ‘0025 – PIKACHU’ arranged in a semicircle. Light-coloured lightning bolt motifs are applied to the upper side panels, directly evoking the character’s electric abilities. The contrasting topstitching visible on the various panels and on the curved peak enhances the overall graphic design.

A second image of Pikachu appears on the side of the cap, whilst the back bears the embroidered inscription ‘0025’. Difuzed uses several decorative techniques on this design, including rubber printing for Pikachu and felt patches for the lightning bolt motifs, to create different levels of texture in the design. 

The cap features a classic multi-panel construction with a curved peak and ventilation eyelets. An adjustable snapback fastening at the back allows the head circumference to be adjusted.

Origin and character lore

Pikachu is Pokémon number 0025 in the National Pokédex, a reference directly featured in the lettering on this cap. An Electric-type Pokémon belonging to the Mouse category, it officially measures 40 cm and weighs approximately 6 kg. Notably, it possesses the Static ability, which can paralyse an opponent that comes into direct contact with it. 

Pikachu’s red cheeks contain small pockets in which it stores electricity. When it feels threatened, it can release this energy in the form of powerful electric shocks. Its distinctive lightning-shaped tail and long ears with black tips are among the features that make its silhouette instantly recognisable. 

Within its evolutionary line, Pikachu follows on from Pichu and can evolve into Raichu. Having featured since the first generation of Pokémon, it has gradually become one of the franchise’s main symbols across video games, the animated series, the Trading Card Game and numerous merchandise items. The ‘0025’ marking on this cap is therefore a direct reference to its historic place in the Pokédex.
