Origin and background of the character
The character Franklin Armstrong comes from the famous American comic strip Peanuts, created by the author and cartoonist Charles M. Schulz in 1950. The story is set in an ordinary suburban neighbourhood and follows the everyday, sometimes philosophical, musings of a group of children and the famous beagle Snoopy. Franklin made his first appearance in 1968, meeting Charlie Brown on a beach where they immediately hit it off whilst building a sandcastle. Representing a major milestone for inclusion in mainstream comics, Franklin stands out for his calmness, kindness and complete lack of major neuroses compared to his classmates. This figurine draws direct inspiration from this timeless seaside encounter to celebrate the spirit of friendship and camaraderie that is unique to the series. Its sleek graphic style emphasises the character’s benevolent demeanour and natural elegance, ready to bring a refreshing and nostalgic touch to collectors’ shelves.
