Origin and character lore
Conceived by filmmaker Tim Burton and directed by Henry Selick in 1993,The Nightmare Before Christmas is an unmissable masterpiece of stop-motion animation. The story follows the misadventures of the monsters of Halloween Town as they attempt to steal the festive magic of Christmas Town, even if it means creating a joyful disaster.
Jack Skellington is the protagonist of this adventure. Nicknamed the Pumpkin King, this elegant and melancholic skeleton oversees the organisation of Halloween Town’s spine-chilling festivities. Tired of the routine of screams and terror, his chance discovery of the world of Christmas awakens a new creative obsession within him.
This special ‘Patchwork’ edition reimagines his slender silhouette in a striped outfit. The figurine is entirely covered in geometric patterns and artistic stitching. This visual treatment draws direct inspiration from the fabric texture of his dear friend Sally, paying a unique tribute to the handcrafted aesthetic of this landmark of animated cinema.
