Based on One Punch Man, this Banpresto figurine depicts Saitama, the hero capable of defeating most of his opponents with a single punch. This ‘Figure #1 – Crash Base Ver.’ variant stands approximately 22 cm tall and features the character on a diorama base depicting terrain shattered by the force of an impact.
Saitama is depicted in the thick of the action, wearing his yellow costume, red gloves and boots, and his black belt with a circular buckle. His fists are clenched as he leaps above the ground, one leg bent and the other braced against the base. His large white cape unfurls horizontally behind him, clearly emphasising the sense of speed and movement.
The distinctive feature of this Crash Base version lies in its base, sculpted to resemble a cracked and devastated rocky landscape. The name ‘SAITAMA’, embossed in red on the front, forms an integral part of the scene. Banpresto describes this base as a diorama effect designed to depict terrain destroyed by an impact, giving this figure a more story-driven presentation than a simple display base.
Saitama is the protagonist of One Punch Man, a work originally created by ONE and later adapted into a manga illustrated by Yusuke Murata. After three years of intensive training, he acquires such power that he becomes capable of defeating virtually any opponent with a single punch. The anime’s official website describes him as a man who has attained invincible strength and who acts as a hero ‘for fun’.
Paradoxically, this power is his main problem: Saitama now struggles to find an opponent capable of presenting him with a real challenge. Behind his ordinary appearance, his bald head and his often detached expression lies a strength that is completely out of proportion to that of the other fighters in his world.
Saitama subsequently joins the Hero Association and takes Genos as his protégé. Despite his exploits, his reserved nature and a number of unusual circumstances mean that his true calibre remains underestimated for a long time. This Crash Base figurine precisely highlights the contrast at the heart of the character: an almost impassive expression paired with a setting literally blown to smithereens by the sheer power of his actions.
