Origin and background of the character
Charlotte Linlin, better known as Big Mom, is one of the major antagonists in the One Piece manga and anime, created by the mangaka Eiichiro Oda in 1997. She is the only woman to have held the rank of One of the Four Emperors (Yonko), the most powerful pirates ruling the New World, and rules her own crew and the Totto Land archipelago with an iron fist. As a user of the Paramecia-type Devil Fruit known as the Soul-Soul Fruit (Soru Soru no Mi), she possesses the ability to manipulate the life essence of individuals to animate objects or natural elements. This distinctive kimono outfit features in the Wano Country arc, a remote region inspired by feudal Japan, where she forges a temporary and strategic alliance with Emperor Kaido against the Straw Hat Pirates’ alliance.
