Origin and background of the character
Monkey D. Luffy is the central, volcanic and legendary protagonist of the global epic One Piece, created by the genius mangaka Eiichiro Oda. Having inadvertently eaten the Rubber Devil Fruit (Gomu Gomu no Mi), the young boy acquires a fully stretchable body. Guided by a promise made to his mentor, Red-Haired Shanks, he sets sail to assemble an elite crew, the Straw Hats, and explore the Grand Line with the ultimate goal of seizing the legendary treasure and becoming the Pirate King. Through sheer perseverance, an indomitable will and titanic battles against the world’s oppressors, Luffy unlocks devastating techniques and rises to the rank of one of the Four Emperors of the New World.
This 21 cm figure from the "Maximatic" collection perfectly captures all the captain’s passion, agility and raw physical power in full martial stride. It meticulously highlights his athletic build, the flowing folds of his traditional open combat outfit revealing the cross-shaped scar on his chest, as well as his famous straw hat tilted back. The fierce and intensely focused expression on his face beautifully captures the intensity of a decisive assault, making this Version B an essential centrepiece for illustrating the fervour of the saga’s major battles.
