Origin and background of the character
Monkey D. Garp is the most famous, respected and unruly Vice-Admiral in the history of the Navy, hailing from the global pirate epic One Piece created by the genius mangaka Eiichiro Oda. Nicknamed ‘Garp the Hero’ following his historic alliance with Gol D. Roger to defeat the Rocks Pirates at God Valley, he is also feared under the alias "Garp the Fist" for the superhuman destructive power of his punches, capable of shattering mountains without any Devil Fruit. Despite his allegiance to the forces of law and order, his life is marked by a deep family rift: he is the biological father of the revolutionary leader Monkey D. Dragon and the adoptive grandfather of Portgas D. Ace and Monkey D. Luffy, whom he tried in vain to raise as proud sailors.
This 15 cm figurine from the "Battle Record" collection masterfully captures all the athletic strength, robust stature and determination of the veteran in the thick of the action. The sculpture meticulously highlights his elegant, finely tailored officer’s uniform, his characteristic greying hair and beard, as well as his famous Vice-Admiral’s coat bearing the kanji for ‘Justice’, draped over his shoulders under the strain of movement. The fierce expression and steely gaze on his face perfectly convey the intensity of a devastating physical assault, establishing this as a highly symbolic piece to complete the "Monkey" family lineage.
