This impressive Banpresto figurine depicts Dracule Mihawk, the famous ‘Hawk’s Eye’ from One Piece, as part of the One Piece Premium collection and its ‘The Anime’ range. Standing approximately 34 cm tall, this version features a colour scheme directly inspired by the TV animation, with bold, contrasting hues designed to replicate the character’s on-screen appearance as closely as possible.
Mihawk is depicted standing in a particularly calm and confident pose. One of his arms is folded behind his head, his hand resting near the hilt of Yoru, whilst the other hangs naturally by his side. His face retains its stern and impassive expression, with his piercing gaze, sideburns, thin moustache and characteristic goatee. His large, black, wide-brimmed hat is complemented by an imposing white ornament at the back.
The ‘The Anime’ finish features a colour scheme very similar to that of the series: a long black coat lined in burgundy red, magenta-pink sleeves covered in decorative patterns, very light-coloured trousers with subtle lavender hues, and high black boots with straps. The large golden cross-shaped pendant worn across his chest completes the character’s iconic appearance.
Yoru plays a central role in the composition. The gigantic black sword is positioned on Mihawk’s back, its long, golden, cross-shaped hilt extending horizontally behind his shoulders. The hilt features numerous engraved ornaments as well as several colourful details reminiscent of gemstones, whilst the handle rises above the character’s head. The rear view allows one to appreciate the full scale of this iconic weapon as well as the length of the cloak.

Character background and lore
Dracule Mihawk is one of the most feared swordsmen in the One Piece universe. Nicknamed ‘Hawk’s Eye’, he officially holds the title of the world’s greatest swordsman and has a bounty of 3.59 billion berries. A former member of the Seven Great Pirates, he wields Yoru, a black blade belonging to the category of the Twelve Supreme Swords.
His encounter with Roronoa Zoro is one of the first major showdowns of the adventure. At the Baratie restaurant, Zoro challenges Mihawk to gauge his progress towards his dream of becoming the world’s greatest swordsman. Mihawk dominates him with overwhelming ease, initially even using a tiny blade before drawing Yoru. Impressed by his determination and refusal to give up, however, he spares his life and encourages him to become strong enough to return and challenge him again.
Their relationship then takes an unexpected turn when Zoro asks Mihawk directly to train him. Despite the paradox of training someone who one day wishes to defeat him, Mihawk agrees and teaches him the art of the sword for two years. The character’s official profile confirms that Zoro clearly tells him he wants to surpass him and that Mihawk, recognising his determination, agrees to become his master.
Following the abolition of the Great Pirates system, Mihawk finds himself allied with Crocodile and Buggy within the Cross Guild. The presence of the world’s greatest swordsman directly contributes to the prestige and danger posed by this organisation, which is now capable of placing bounties on the heads of Marine personnel itself. Recent official One Piece sources continue to portray Mihawk as one of the pillars of the Cross Guild alongside Crocodile and Buggy.
This ‘The Anime’ Premium edition faithfully captures Mihawk’s classic image: an almost motionless, utterly self-assured figure, whose gaze, long black coat and immense Yoru are enough to convey his status as the undisputed benchmark amongst the swordsmen of One Piece.
