Origin and background of the character
Dory, known as the ‘Blue Cyclops’, is one of the two legendary captains of the Giants’ Crew from Elbaf Island in the monumental work One Piece, the Shonen manga created by Eiichiro Oda in 1997. After striking terror across the world’s seas, he engaged in a centuries-old duel of honour against his brother-in-arms Brogy the Red Shark on the prehistoric island of Little Garden, a clash that lasted over a century without ever producing a winner. Armed with his fearsome long sword and blessed with a Herculean build, he fervently embodies the values of courage, loyalty and righteousness of the warrior culture of Elbaf. Banpresto’s “Senkozekkei” collection is particularly renowned for capturing the fury and choreography of the franchise’s greatest duels through ultra-dynamic and detailed sculptures. This figurine meticulously captures the details of his long white beard, his Viking-inspired warrior’s helmet and the massive lines of his armour, establishing itself as a prime piece to pair perfectly with the figurine of his eternal rival.
