Origin and backstory of the character (Lore)

Jack Skellington is the main character in The Nightmare Before Christmas, a stop-motion animated film conceived by Tim Burton and directed by Henry Selick.

Nicknamed the Pumpkin King, Jack is the central figure of Halloween Town. Tired of celebrating the same festival year after year, he stumbles upon Christmas Town by chance and becomes fascinated by the warm and colourful world of Christmas.

Convinced he can organise the festivities himself, Jack decides to take Santa’s place. However, his macabre take on Christmas traditions leads to a series of disasters, whilst Sally tries to make him realise that his plan is likely to go awry.

This ‘Happy Howlidays’ jumper captures precisely that blend of Halloween and Christmas that defines the film’s identity, in a festive design created for fans of Jack Skellington.
