Character background and lore

Susano’O is one of the most powerful techniques associated with the Mangekyo Sharingan in the Naruto universe. It takes the form of a gigantic chakra avatar that surrounds its user, providing both exceptional defence and considerable offensive power.

This technique is notably used by several key members of the Uchiha clan, including Itachi Uchiha, Sasuke Uchiha and Madara Uchiha. Depending on the user and their level of mastery, Susano’O can evolve gradually, from a partial structure to a complete, monumental form capable of wielding devastating weapons and techniques.

Beyond its raw power, Susano’O perfectly symbolises the legacy of the Uchiha clan and the extreme mastery of the Sharingan. Its presence in the series features in several of Naruto Shippuden’s most memorable battles, making it one of the franchise’s most recognisable manifestations of chakra.
