Based on Naruto Shippuden, this Banpresto figurine depicts Naruto Uzumaki in Hermit Mode, in his iconic appearance upon his return to Konoha during the Pain arc. This ‘The Brush’ version stands approximately 30 cm tall and shares the same sculpt as the ‘The Anime’ and ‘The Metallic’ variants, whilst featuring a different paint finish.
Naruto is depicted wearing his orange and black Shippuden outfit, complemented by the long cloak he wore upon his return from Mount Myôboku. One hand rests on the large scroll placed vertically beside him, whilst the other is resting on his hip. The long ties of his headband trail behind his head, adding a sense of movement to this composition, which is otherwise deliberately calm and assured.
The distinctive feature of the ‘The Brush’ variant lies in its pictorial treatment. Compared to the bolder colours of ‘The Anime’, this finish utilises more pronounced shadows and contrasts on the cape, the outfit and the scroll, to achieve a look more reminiscent of brush-painted colouring. Naruto also features the characteristic eyes of Hermit Mode and a calm expression here, whilst all three editions retain exactly the same sculpt.
Naruto Uzumaki begins his training in senjutsu on Mount Myôboku following Jiraya’s disappearance. Under Fukasaku’s guidance, he learns to absorb and balance natural energy with his own chakra. This mastery enables him to enter Hermit Mode, recognisable in particular by the orange markings surrounding his eyes and his altered pupils.
During this training, Pain and the Six Paths attack Konoha. After the village has been almost entirely destroyed by Tendô’s Shinra Tensei, Naruto returns from Mount Myôboku accompanied by the toads and confronts Pain using his new abilities. He then combines Hermit Mode with various advanced techniques, including the Fūton – Rasen Shuriken and the Frog Kumite.
The cape and large scroll reproduced on this figure are directly associated with this now-iconic arrival in Naruto Shippuden. The ‘The Brush’ finish, featuring the eyes of Hermit Mode and a more shaded paint scheme, specifically highlights Naruto as he appears when he returns to defend Konoha against Pain.
