Meet Izuku Midoriya, aka Deku, with this Funko POP! Animation No. 2589 figurine inspired by My Hero Academia. Standing approximately 14 cm tall, this figure depicts the young hero from U.A. in a particularly dynamic pose, surrounded by energy effects reminiscent of the various abilities he is gradually learning to harness thanks to One For All.
The figurine features Midoriya’s characteristic spiky green hair as well as a battle-worn version of his hero costume. His face and torso are marked with numerous dark bruises, whilst black effects edged in turquoise spread out on either side of his body. The suspended pose, with one leg raised, reinforces the sense of movement and visually conveys the power Deku unleashes in battle.
These effects are particularly reminiscent of Blackwhip, one of the abilities contained within One For All. This technique allows Izuku to produce tendrils of energy which he can use to move around, grab objects or immobilise his opponents. This POP! figure thus brings together several elements that have become iconic features of the fighting style Midoriya has developed as he has progressed.

Character background and universe (Lore)
Izuku Midoriya is the main protagonist of My Hero Academia. Born without a Quirk in a society where superpowers have become extremely widespread, he nevertheless dreams of becoming a professional hero like his idol, All Might. His courage and his instinct to spontaneously come to others’ aid eventually catch All Might’s attention.
All Might then chooses Izuku as his successor and passes on to him ‘One For All’, an exceptional Quirk that is passed down from one user to the next, accumulating ever-greater power with each generation. Midoriya then enrols in the Hero Course at U.A. High School, where he must learn to control this immense power without destroying his own body every time he uses it.
As he develops, another unique feature of One For All gradually comes to light: Izuku can access several Alters belonging to previous holders of the power. Among them is Blackwhip, an ability originally possessed by Daigoro Banjo that allows him to generate energy tendrils. Midoriya learns to use them both to increase his mobility and to capture his opponents or rescue others.
This growing mastery of One For All gradually transforms Deku into a much more versatile fighter. But his fundamental characteristic remains unchanged: even before he possessed any power, Izuku already stood out for his almost instinctive desire to save people in danger – a quality that was precisely what had convinced All Might to make him his successor.
