Origin and background of the character
The character of Fozzie Bear hails from the famous American variety television programme*The Muppet Show *, created by Jim Henson in 1976. The story unfolds both behind the scenes and on the stage of a zany music-hall theatre, where Kermit the Frog tries, as best he can, to manage a troupe of eccentric creatures. Fozzie is a slightly clumsy, eternally optimistic orange bear who serves as the show’s official comedian. Despite his often-failed jokes, his dubious puns and the incessant mockery of the two old critics, Statler and Waldorf, sitting in the balcony, he never gives up and always punctuates his lines with his signature laugh: ‘Waka Waka Waka!’.
This vinyl figurine perfectly captures his classic look, depicting him in his brown pork pie hat, white polka-dot bow tie and textured fur, ready to bring a touch of humour, poetry and television nostalgia to collectors’ shelves.
