Origin and background of the character
Created in Japan in 1974 by Kōichi Sekiguchi, Monchhichi (known worldwide in France by the affectionate nickname ‘Kiki, the kiki of all kikis’) is a small soft toy monkey with a baby-faced expression that has left its mark on the childhoods of millions of people. A timeless symbol of tenderness, innocence and kindness, this companion has stood the test of time without ageing a bit. The Benelic brand pays a superb tribute to him by incorporating this icon of vintage pop culture into the heart of must-have on-the-go items that embody the Japanese art of living. This round bento box perfectly blends the nostalgia of the 70s and 80s with a modern kawaii aesthetic, making it a practical and deeply affectionate gift idea for all fans of all things retro.
