Origin and background of the character
Created in Japan in 1974 by Kōichi Sekiguchi, Monchhichi (world-famous in France under the affectionate nickname ‘Kiki, the kiki of all kikis’) is a small soft toy monkey with a baby-faced expression that has been a part of the childhoods of millions of people. A timeless symbol of tenderness, innocence and kindness, this companion has stood the test of time without ageing a bit. The Benelic brand pays a superb tribute to it by incorporating this icon of vintage pop culture into the heart of must-have on-the-go items that embody the Japanese art of living. This large-capacity bento box perfectly combines the nostalgia of the 70s and 80s with modern practicality, making it a useful and deeply affectionate gift idea for all fans of all things retro.
