Launched in 1996 to accompany the hit album HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I, the HIStory World Tour was Michael Jackson’s third and final solo world tour, attracting more than 4.5 million spectators across 35 countries. To open these monumental concerts, the artist would appear on stage after emerging from a space capsule, clad in this spectacular golden armour designed by Michael Bush. This cybernetic and regal-inspired costume symbolised the artist’s stature, as he stood at the pinnacle of his status as a timeless global icon.
