Origin and background of the character
The character Orko hails from the famous toy and animated series franchise *Masters of the Universe*, launched by Mattel in the early 1980s. The story is set on the mystical and technologically advanced planet of Eternia and follows the eternal struggle between good and evil to preserve the secrets of the Castle of Shadows. Hailing from the parallel dimension of Trolla, Orko is a magician whose powers work in reverse on Eternia, resulting in magic tricks that often go wrong but are always comical. Concealing his features beneath a large felt hat and a purple scarf, he remains one of the few confidants to know Prince Adam’s double identity. This specific version from the Comic Deco range features a stylised paint finish that mimics the retro shading and colouring techniques of vintage comic books. Its sophisticated graphic style emphasises the levitation and mystical silhouette of the little hero, ready to add a touch of magic and nostalgia to collectors’ shelves.
