MADAGASCAR - Marty - Plush 30cm

MADAGASCAR – Marty – 30 cm soft toy

Meet Marty, the energetic zebra from Madagascar, with this official DreamWorks soft toy manufactured by Barrado. Available in a retail size of approximately 30 cm, it captures the instantly recognisable appearance of Alex, Gloria and Melman’s companion.

The soft toy recreates Marty’s famous black-and-white striped coat, his broad grey muzzle, his large ears and his smiling expression. His large eyes and deliberately cartoonish proportions remain true to the visual style developed for the characters in the DreamWorks films, giving this version an expressive look that’s just as suitable for display as it is for cuddles.

Origin and character background (Lore)

Marty is the zebra in the main group from *Madagascar*, alongside Alex the lion, Gloria the hippopotamus and Melman the giraffe. At the start of the first film, released in 2005, the four friends live comfortably at the Central Park Zoo in New York before finding themselves catapulted far from their usual surroundings and eventually stranded on the island of Madagascar.

It is largely Marty’s desire to discover life beyond the zoo that sets this adventure in motion. Curious, optimistic and always ready to try something new, the zebra stands in contrast to some of his companions, who are more attached to the comforts of their former life. In *Madagascar 2*, he even encounters a huge herd of zebras in Africa who are just like him, leading him to question what really makes him unique.

Marty then continues his adventures with his friends in Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted, where the group joins a circus to travel across Europe whilst evading Captain Dubois. This Barrado soft toy features his classic, expressive look, which has become iconic within the DreamWorks franchise.
