The One Ring lies at the heart of the story of The Lord of the Rings. Forged by Sauron in the flames of Mount Doom, it was designed to concentrate a great deal of his power and enable him to dominate the other Rings of Power. Its deliberately simple appearance contrasts with the immense importance it holds in the history of Middle-earth.
When heated, the Ring reveals an inscription in Tengwar script corresponding to a formula in the Black Speech of Mordor. Having passed through the centuries and changed hands several times, it eventually ended up in the hands of Frodo Baggins, who was tasked with carrying it to Mordor to destroy it in the very place where it was forged. This key ring features the Ring and its inscriptions as the central elements of its design.
