THE LEGEND OF ZELDA - Heart Container - Light 25cm

This officially licensed Nintendo decorative lamp is modelled on a Heart Container, one of the iconic items from The Legend of Zelda series. Manufactured by Paladone, it features a three-dimensional design directly inspired by the red hearts featured in the games and is available in a 25 cm retail size. It can be placed on a piece of furniture using its transparent stand or mounted on the wall to create decorative lighting dedicated to the world of Hyrule.

The design features the characteristic shape of a large red heart with sculpted contours. When switched on, the lamp emits a red glow that accentuates its appearance as a Heart Container straight out of a Zelda game. The transparent stand provided preserves the visual effect of the suspended heart whilst ensuring its stability when used as a table lamp.

This model also features a slow-pulsing light mode. The light intensity varies gradually, producing an effect reminiscent of a heartbeat and reinforcing the connection to the object’s function in the games. It can therefore be used as mood lighting on a desk, a shelf, a bedside table or in a gaming area.

Power can be supplied via the USB cable provided or by three AAA batteries. Batteries are not included, allowing you to choose between a permanent wired setup and wireless use. The Paladone international catalogue also confirms that this model can be used as both a wall lamp and a table lamp.

Origin and lore of the franchise

Heart Containers are one of the most recognisable recurring items in The Legend of Zelda. They are directly linked to Link’s health gauge: collecting a Heart Container permanently increases his maximum number of hearts. Nintendo confirms that a Heart Container increases the hero’s maximum health by one heart.

Depending on the game, Link can obtain a full Heart Container after defeating a boss or completing a major milestone in his adventure. It is also possible to create new Heart Containers by collecting several Heart Pieces scattered throughout Hyrule. The number of fragments required varies from game to game; in Twilight Princess HD, for example, five Heart Pieces are needed to obtain an extra heart.

Hearts have thus become a visual symbol closely associated with Link’s health, progress and survival. This Paladone lamp reimagines this iconic mechanic as a decorative light fitting, whilst its slow-pulsing mode further reinforces the analogy with a real beating heart.
