Origin and character lore
The Japanese term ‘Kawaii’ — literally meaning ‘cute’ or ‘adorable’ — has established itself since the 1970s as a way of life, an aesthetic and a major part of global pop culture. This universe is based on the creation of characters with childlike, rounded and reassuring features, designed to inspire affection and offer comfort amidst the stresses of everyday life. The “Axolutely” design takes its inspiration directly from the axolotl, an incredible little amphibian native to Mexico capable of remaining in its larval state for its entire life without ever growing up. Having become a veritable mascot on the internet and in animation thanks to its unique appearance, which gives the illusion of an eternal smile, it embodies here the spirit of kindness and innocence characteristic of Japanese pop culture. This keyring celebrates this universal gentleness, inviting you to approach your days with the same serenity and ease as this little aquatic creature.
