Discover Kaiju No. 9 in an impressive winged version with this Funko POP! Animation No. 2623 figurine, inspired by Kaiju No. 8. Standing approximately 11.9 cm tall, this figure showcases an evolved form of the fearsome antagonist, now featuring a much more massive and menacing silhouette.
This version ditches the light colours of Kaiju No. 9’s original appearance in favour of a heavily textured charcoal-grey body. Its distinctive head retains its wide row of teeth, but now features several red eyes scattered across its face. Red accents also appear on its hands and joints, accentuating the contrast with its dark carapace.
The main feature of this edition lies in the numerous organic extensions sprouting from its back, forming large wings with irregular contours. A long tail completes the transformation, whilst the suspended pose is maintained by a transparent stand. Taken together, these features give this POP! a significantly more voluminous and dynamic composition than a standard Kaiju No. 9 figurine.

Character background and lore
Kaiju No. 9 is one of the main antagonists in Kaiju No. 8 and one of the most dangerous threats facing the Japanese Defence Forces. Unlike most kaiju, it possesses a highly developed intelligence, communicates with humans and devises complex strategies. The series’ official website gradually presents it as the major threat operating in the shadows whilst Kafka Hibino attempts to harness the power of Kaiju No. 8.
Its most formidable trait is its extraordinary ability to adapt and evolve. During a clash with the First Division, Kaiju No. 9 is notably capable of splitting its body into two entities in order to face several opponents simultaneously. The official website states that it continues to evolve in the heat of battle, forcing Kafka, Kikoru Shinomiya and Gen Narumi to constantly adapt to its new abilities.
Kaiju No. 9 then reaches a new level when it absorbs Isao Shinomiya and the Numbers Weapon 2. This assimilation grants it the power of Kaiju No. 2 and makes it even more dangerous. Not even Kafka in his Kaiju No. 8 form and Gen Narumi are able to eliminate him once and for all, confirming his status as the top priority threat for the entire Defence Force.
This POP! No. 2623 specifically highlights the character’s ability to constantly evolve. Its wings, reinforced body and numerous eyes give Kaiju No. 9 an appearance even further removed from its initial humanoid form and visually convey its ability to transform into an ever more dangerous creature.
