Origin and background of the character (Lore)
Isao Shinomiya is the Director General of the JAKDF (Japan Anti-Kaiju Defense Force) and Kikoru's father. Historically considered to be one of the most powerful fighters in the history of mankind, he is the only man capable of mastering and carrying the numbered weapon "Numbers 2", made from the remains of the fearsome Kaiju No. 2. This armour gives him Herculean physical strength and the ability to emit devastating shockwaves with his bare hands. Scarred by the loss of his time in a previous disaster, Isao has developed a ruthless military philosophy where only brute force counts to protect the nation, leading him to demand absolute excellence from his daughter and to initially perceive Kafka Hibino (in his Kaiju No. 8 form) as a deadly threat to be dissected and eliminated.
