- Origin and character background
Directly inspired by Steven Spielberg’s 1993 cinematic masterpiece, this miniature work of art captures the gripping scene from the incubation lab. It is during the guided tour led by billionaire John Hammond, accompanied by Dr Alan Grant, Dr Ellie Sattler and Dr Ian Malcolm, that the small group witnesses a scientific miracle unfold before their eyes: the hatching of a cracked eggshell. The initial wonder, however, gives way to a sense of unease when Dr Grant, observing the newborn’s features, realises that InGen has succeeded in raising one of the most intelligent and deadly predators in creation: the Velociraptor.
The Toyellectible Treasures collection brings this cinematic scene to life with striking realism. The sculpture faithfully reproduces the baby raptor struggling to emerge from its artificial nest, its mouth slightly open revealing its first teeth and its large eyes shining with curiosity. The meticulous paintwork highlights the cracks in the eggshell, the fragments of membrane and a clear varnish coating simulating the original sticky incubation fluid. The textured base evokes the bed of straw and greenery at the research centre, completing this unique piece that is sure to delight fans of dinosaurs and pop culture.
