Based on the Jujutsu Kaisen series, this Banpresto figurine depicts Yuta Okkotsu, a second-year student at the Tokyo Exorcism School and a special-class exorcist. Part of the MAXIMATIC collection, this new version stands approximately 17 cm tall and features a low, dynamic fighting stance rather than an upright position.
Yuta is depicted wearing his white high-necked top, paired with fitted black trousers and white high-top trainers. His dark hair is combed back and his face takes on a focused expression. Unlike some previous MAXIMATIC figurines of the character, this version does not feature him with his katana: his arms are positioned here to complement a close-quarters combat stance.
The sculpting particularly emphasises the body’s movement: widely bent legs, a tilted torso and arms drawn back around the upper body give the impression that Yuta has just pivoted or is about to launch an attack. This design choice also explains the relatively compact height of 17 cm, despite the character’s realistic proportions. The MAXIMATIC range thus emphasises a broad silhouette and a striking visual presence on display.
Yuta Okkotsu is introduced as the protagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen 0. As a child, he lost his childhood friend Rika Orimoto in an accident; he had promised to marry her. After her death, Rika becomes a powerful curse attached to Yuta, whose uncontrollable strength drives him to isolate himself for fear of harming those around him. His encounter with Satoru Gojo eventually leads him to enrol at the Tokyo Exorcism School with the aim of freeing Rika from this curse.
At the school, Yuta meets, amongst others, Maki Zen’in, Toge Inumaki and Panda, who become his classmates. His journey then takes him to face Suguru Geto during the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons. After this battle, he manages to lift Rika’s curse before leaving to spend some time abroad.
In the main timeline of Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuta is now a second-year student and officially ranked as a Special Class Exorcist, a category reserved for a very limited number of fighters. This MAXIMATIC figurine further emphasises this aspect of him as a seasoned fighter, with a crouched, offensive stance rather than the more hesitant demeanour associated with his early days in Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
