Origin and background of the character
In the cult manga and anime series *InuYasha*, created by the legendary mangaka Rumiko Takahashi, the eponymous hero is a hanyo, a hybrid being born of the union between a powerful dog demon and a human. In his quest for the Shikon Jewel to become a full-fledged demon, he finds himself sealed away for fifty years before being freed by Kagome Higurashi, the reincarnation of the priestess Kikyo. Although he often displays a proud, hot-tempered and protective nature, this exclusive version depicts him in his traditional resting pose, lying on his side, clad in his famous red tunic, the Robe of the Fire Rat (Himei). It perfectly captures those rare moments of calm shared with his allies during their long journey across feudal Japan in pursuit of the demon Naraku.
