Origin and character’s universe
Created by screenwriter Don Mancini and first appearing in 1988 in the cult film *Child’s Play *, Chucky is one of the most original, sarcastic and memorable monsters in slasher cinema. The plot begins when Charles Lee Ray, a serial killer hunted by the police, uses a mystical voodoo ritual to transfer his dying soul into an articulated doll from the hugely popular ‘Good Guys’ range. Beneath his innocent appearance as a red-haired toy, wearing denim dungarees and a colourful striped jumper, Chucky conceals a sadistic and Machiavellian criminal mind, determined to regain a human body. Having become a major film and television franchise over the decades, the series has left its mark on pop culture history by blending pure horror with dark, biting humour. This exclusive keyring from Funko perfectly captures the retro and menacing design of this iconic character, ready to accompany you every day.
