HATSUNE MIKU - School Sekai "Brand New World" - Figure XStellar 19cm

HATSUNE MIKU – School SEKAI ‘Brand New World’ – 19 cm XStellar figurine

SEGA Goods is expanding its XStellar range with this Hatsune Miku figurine inspired by Project SEKAI: Colourful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku. This School SEKAI – Brand New World version recreates Miku’s appearance as seen in Leo/need’s SEKAI, featuring her redesigned look from the major ‘Brand New World’ update. The figurine stands approximately 19 cm tall.

Miku is depicted standing in a relaxed pose, with her eyes closed and a slight smile on her face. She is wearing a dark, school-inspired jacket, paired with a red tie, a short skirt and long socks. Her iconic long turquoise pigtails also feature coloured accents at the ends. The pose, with one hand tucked into a pocket, gives the figure a natural look that matches this incarnation of Miku in School SEKAI.

Made from PVC, this figurine is part of SEGA’s XStellar collection and is intended for display. Measuring approximately 19 cm, it can be displayed alongside the various representations of the Virtual Singers and characters from Project SEKAI, particularly the other variants corresponding to the different SEKAI worlds in the game.

Character background and universe (Lore)

Hatsune Miku is one of the Virtual Singers featured in Project SEKAI: Colorful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku. In the game, several ‘SEKAI’ take shape from the characters’ genuine emotions. The Virtual Singers appear in various forms and accompany the human groups to help them understand and express their emotions.

The School SEKAI is associated with the group Leo/need, formed by Ichika Hoshino, Saki Tenma, Honami Mochizuki and Shiho Hinomori. The official website describes this world as a school-themed SEKAI bathed in twilight, created from the genuine feelings of the four friends. Miku and Luka await the members of Leo/need in a classroom; Miku, in particular, takes on the role of a mentor in the field of music, listening to their concerns and encouraging them to move forward.

The phrase ‘Brand New World’ refers to the major update rolled out for Project SEKAI’s third anniversary in September 2023. This update advances the characters’ school careers and refreshes their main illustrations as well as their unit costumes. SEGA notes that the outfits of the Virtual Singers originally featured in each SEKAI were also redesigned for this occasion.

This XStellar figurine therefore specifically depicts Hatsune Miku in her School SEKAI appearance following the ‘Brand New World’ update, rather than her standard Virtual Singer design. It thus represents a direct reflection of the visual evolution of the Leo/need universe within Project SEKAI.
