Origin and character lore
In the Harry Potter universe, the young wizard’s status takes a tragic turn during his seventh year. Following the fall of the Ministry of Magic and the discreet assassination of Rufus Scrimgeour, Voldemort and his Death Eaters secretly seize control of the magical institutions. The Ministry, now corrupted by the ideology of the Pure-bloods, launches a massive propaganda campaign to hunt down its opponents. Declared “Most Wanted No. 1”, Harry Potter becomes the country’s most hunted fugitive, wrongly accused of complicity in the death of Albus Dumbledore. These wanted posters, plastered en masse on the walls of Diagon Alley and the Ministry, symbolise the reign of terror whilst strengthening Harry, Ron and Hermione’s resolve in their clandestine quest for the Horcruxes. This plaque celebrates the Survivor’s resilience in the face of magical oppression.
