Meet Hajime Iwaizumi, vice-captain and star player of the Aoba Johsai High School volleyball team in *Haikyu!!*, with this FuRyu figurine measuring approximately 18.5 cm. The character is depicted in his iconic match kit, wearing a white and turquoise jersey bearing the number 4.
Iwaizumi strikes a straight, determined pose, with his fist thrust forward, emphasising his fighting spirit and his role as a pillar of the team. His short, spiky hair, serious expression and athletic build are faithfully reproduced. His outfit is completed by turquoise shorts, black knee pads and white and red volleyball shoes.
The figurine rests on a rectangular base with a parquet-style finish, directly evoking a volleyball court. Its size makes it easy to display in a display cabinet or on a shelf, and it is particularly well suited to being displayed alongside the Toru Oikawa figurine from the same series.
Hajime Iwaizumi is a third-year student at Aoba Johsai High School. He serves as vice-captain, wing spiker and ace of the boys’ volleyball team and wears the number 4 jersey. A powerful and particularly reliable player, he is one of Seijoh’s main offensive assets, but also plays a vital role in maintaining the team’s mental cohesion.
Iwaizumi has a particularly close relationship with Toru Oikawa, his childhood friend and captain. The two players have been playing volleyball together for many years, and their excellent mutual understanding is directly reflected on the court. Whilst Oikawa can be provocative or excessively hard on himself, Iwaizumi often acts as a more pragmatic presence, capable of bringing him back to basics.
His serious, forthright and combative nature thus contrasts with Oikawa’s more theatrical demeanour, but this complementary dynamic helps make the pair one of the pillars of Aoba Johsai. Iwaizumi embodies both the team’s attacking power and its stability, which this figurine captures through a simple yet determined pose, directly inspired by his on-court presence.
