Bring the legendary Earth Federation mobile suit to life in pocket-sized form with the official SD Gundam EX-Standard model of the RX-78-2 Gundam!
A historic Mobile Suit piloted by Amuro Ray during the One Year War, the RX-78-2 has been given a playful and dynamic stylistic makeover through Bandai Hobby’s EX-Standard range. This collection stands out thanks to a major improvement in the robot’s overall posture: the limbs are more articulated, the design is more refined, and the mecha exudes a striking heroic presence despite its amusing chibi appearance.
This high-end model showcases ingenuity and playability. The model is fully pre-coloured with excellent separation of the injection-moulded plastic parts (white, blue, red and yellow). Colourful and detailed decals are included in the box to perfect the finish, particularly for the iconic yellow eyes and the ventilation grilles. The robot comes with a full set of combat equipment: its laser rifle (Beam Rifle), its red and white heavy shield bearing the yellow star (Shield) and its combat sabre (Beam Saber). The ultimate and exclusive highlight of the EX-Standard range? The included weapons and shield can be combined to create original, customised weaponry, fully compatible with High Grade 1/144 scale models (sold separately).
The assembly experience is all about pure enjoyment, speed and simplicity. No messy glue, no specialist tools required – all parts snap together naturally using Bandai’s tried-and-tested Snap-fit technology. The parts detach cleanly from the sprues to provide crisp finishes. Once completed, this small robot, standing 8 cm tall, surprises with its flexibility and makes the ideal gift or decorative item to place on a desk alongside your manga.
